Joie Faulkner, age 81, of Williamsburg, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Whitley County, KY on March 4, 1940 to the late Rev. Raymond and Winnie Ola Meadors and was a life-long resident of Williamsburg. Joie was preceded in death by her husband, AJ Faulkner; four sisters, Anna Lee Meadors, Rose Taylor, Ruth Meadors and Randy Davenport. She has two surviving sisters, Rovena Kinder of West Carrollton, OH and Coleen McCray of Eaton OH. Joie also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews to mourn her passing, Pat Taylor, Donna Witherspoon, Tony Taylor, Bill Kinder, Mike Davenport, Melissa Kinder and Allen McCray.
Joie attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and also owned and operated her own beauty salon in Williamsburg, KY until her retirement. She enjoyed being outdoors and tending her garden, or walking down the lane at her home. She volunteered many hours at Cedar Ridge Ministries Recycle Facility in Williamsburg.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 27, at New Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Janus Jones officiating. Interment was in New Mt. Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund and be mailed to: Susan Elson at 60 Old Corbin Road, Corbin, KY 40701.
