Jonathan Payne rejoins Forcht Bank as EVP, Director of Retail Banking

Date:

After an earlier chapter with Forcht Bank, Jonathan Payne rejoins the team as Executive Vice President and Director of Retail Banking, bringing with him 33 years of banking experience, a deep commitment to serving Kentucky communities, and an ability to drive positive change.

Over the course of his career, which began in 1989 while still in college, Payne has held key leadership roles in retail banking, market development, and strategic planning. He’s widely respected for his ability to build high-performing teams, mentor emerging leaders, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

While at Forcht Bank, Payne played an instrumental role in the rollout of Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), a transformative initiative that extended our banking hours to 7 AM–7 PM, six days a week.

“One of Jonathan’s defining qualities is his generosity and willingness to help others. He’s always ready to support his coworkers, no matter how small the task, and believes in leading by example, never asking someone to do something he wouldn’t do himself. This spirit of teamwork and giving has shaped the culture of his teams and inspired those around him,” said Forcht Bank President and CEO Tucker Ballinger.

Payne graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, with a bachelor’s in accounting and business administration in 1991. Since, he’s participated in Leadership Kentucky, was the president of the Fern Creek Chamber of Commerce in Louisville, was named a “20 People to Know in Banking” by Louisville Business First, and currently coaches youth baseball, among other community involvements.

Outside of work, Payne enjoys spending time with his wife, Diane, to whom he’s been married for 33 years. He also cherishes time on the golf course with his son, Evan, and morning walks with his Sheepadoodle.
