With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joni Maria Dixon Cooper, a loving and compassionate force of nature, who left us on October 27, 2025.
Born on September 21, 1960, in Ohio, Joni’s radiant spirit touched many lives in her 65 years. Her love for her family, her joy in her hobbies, and her devotion to kindness are testaments to the beautiful life she lived.
Joni, a retired Dietary Specialist at the Beechtree Nursing Home enjoyed serving the many patients she encountered with her spirited way. Joni’s compassionate heart and loving nature made her a beacon of comfort and security for all who knew her. An avid reader, a savvy shopper, and a puzzle master, Joni loved the simple pleasures of life. She could often be found with her nose in a good book, hunting for the best deals in town, or meticulously piecing together a challenging puzzle. Her zest for life was infectious, and she had the unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved.
Joni leaves behind a loving family: her mother, Dorothy Dixon of Williamsburg, KY; her children, Carrie Ray and husband Shawn of Williamsburg, KY and Russell Cooper Jr of Williamsburg, KY.; her cherished grandchildren, Austin Baker and Emilee Baker; her dear siblings, Martha Dills (Daniel) of Chatsworth, GA. Charlotte Payne (Casey) of Williamsburg, KY, Frankie Dixon (Rhett) of LaFollette, TN , and Timothy Dixon of Williamsburg, KY. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Brandi, Amber, Dana, Zeke, Josh, Cody, Sierra and Heather.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Frank Dixon; and her late husband, Russell Cooper.
Funeral service was Saturday, November 1, at the Croley Funeral Home, in Williamsburg, Kentucky with Frankie Dixon officiating.
Joni’s life will be celebrated with love and fond memories, just as she would have wished.
