Joyce Fay (Goins) May, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away on April 30, 2024 in Pomona, California.
Joyce was born on September 29, 1940 in Williamsburg, KY to the late Nancy Bray Hill and Herman Goins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Carlos May; stepfather, William Hill; brothers, Wilburn Hill, and Bobby Hill; sisters, Kay Hill Sutton and Bonnie Hill Smith. Since her passing, her younger brother, Gary Hill has also passed away.
Joyce had a love for crocheting, especially baby blankets and scarfs. She blessed many people with her beautiful homemade gifts. She enjoyed a good word search, doing crossword puzzles. tending to her many plants, and spending time with her family and loved ones.
Joyce is survived by her children, Carlos May Jr. of Elsmere, KY; Steve (Caren) May of Chino Hills, CA; Randy (Cynthia) May of Claremont, CA; and Carla (David ) Herbert of LaFollette, TN; five grandchildren, Kristen (Lonny) Carr, Joshua (Katie) May, Brittni (Scott) Pantuso, Ashley (Casey) Cranford, and Brandon (Victoria) May; along with 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat Hamblin, Wilma Hamby, Sherry Lawson, Joretta Lawson, Shelby Lynn Hill, and Gene Hill all of Williamsburg KY; as well as many extended family members and dear friends; including her oldest and dearest friend, Mrs. Betty Elam.
A beautiful soul, Joyce will live on in the hearts and memories of her loved ones and be forever missed.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on September 28th at 2pm at Blessed Hope Church in Rockholds, KY.
