kathleen-thomas-colorKathleen Thomas, 88, of Algood and formerly of Albany, GA, passed away Monday morning, September 5, 2016 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County in Algood, TN.

She was born December 2, 1927 in Williamsburg, to the late James Mathew Sr. and Ethel Smith Taylor.

Mrs. Thomas supported her husband in Baptist Pastorates in churches throughout the Southeast. They enjoyed 58 years of service together.

Currently her grandchildren are serving God in Christian ministries across the United States and in Japan.

She was loving, kind, generous, and a faithful Christian  witness to many people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Glenn Elmore Thomas; daughter, Diana Lynn Harris; five brothers, Estel, T.B., James Jr., Earl, and Arnold Taylor; and three sisters, Edith Thomas, Emma Irene Ball, and Maggie Taylor.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Barbara Thomas of Albany, GA, David and Julia Thomas of Franklin, KY; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Dorene and Sam Garner of Cookeville, Debra and Dwight Whitworth of Johnson City, TN; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Charles Kiser of Elizabethtown, KY, Elizabeth and Charles Brummett of Williamsburg; son-in-law, Roy Harris of Lebanon, TN; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and interment were held Thursday, September 8 at Highland Cemetery in Williamsburg.
