Keavy woman arrested for stealing truck

Date:

A Keavy woman has been charged with the theft of a pickup truck from a Corbin area car dealership.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Kyle Trosper arrested Cynthia Pitts, 22, on a charge of theft by unlawful taking – auto – of the value of $10,000 or more but under $1 million.

Trosper wrote in the arrest citation that Pitts was identified as the passenger in the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado that was stolen from Tim Short Auto Mall on July 15.

Trosper stated that the man, who was driving the stolen vehicle, has been identified as Travis Smith.

“(Pitts) left the dealership with Mr. Smith and continued to facilitate the theft of the vehicle by advising Mr. Smith of my attempts to locate him and the truck on July 17, 2021,” Trosper wrote in the arrest citation.

Pitts was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
