Knox Co. law enforcement searching for escaped inmate

Knox County Detention Center inmate Shane Browning escaped while participating in the Knox County Work Release Program this morning.

Browning was last seen at approximately 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of North 11 and Highway 25E in the Heidrick area. He was wearing a gray colored jumpsuit. Browning has red/auburn hair, is 5’8” and approximately 150 pounds.

Browning’s current charges include criminal possession of forged instrument, tampering with physical evidence, giving officer false name or address and receiving stolen property.

Browning is not considered dangerous but the Knox County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public to not approach Browning if he is spotted. If anyone sees Browning, please call 911 and report his location.Shane T. Browning PIC
