KSP investigating missing juvenile from Whitley County

Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 11 is actively investigating the disappearance of a Whitley County juvenile who went missing April 16, 2025, around 10 p.m. KSP was contacted today regarding her disappearance.

The missing juvenile is Layla C. Wells, 16, of Corbin. A family member last saw her walking out of her residence around 10 p.m.

Wells is described as a white female, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with shoulder length hair and blue eyes. Wells was last seen wearing a purple hoodie and black sweatpants. She had on black Nike slides with swoosh symbol painted red. She was carrying a small white purse with a gold chain strap.

Trooper Matt Ridener is investigating the case. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Wells is urged to contact Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London at (606) 878-6622 or 1-800-222-5555.
