Kentucky State Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in east Corbin Friday night.
According to officials at post 10 in Harlan, troopers were called to Baptist Health Corbin about 5:30 p.m. when a male subject, later identified as Michael Shane McCormick, was brought into the emergency room with a stab wound to the chest.
“Nurses from Baptist Health in Corbin reported that they had a male subject in their Emergency department who had been dropped off by unknown persons,” KSP officials stated.
KSP officials said the stabbing occurred in the Moore Hill area of Corbin
McCormick was later transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
KSP Detective Bryan Johnson is continuing the investigation.
