Keavy man crashes vehicle into Walmart garden center

Date:

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo said the 30-year-old told deputies he blacked out seconds before crashing his Ford Taurus into the gate at the west end of the building about 6:10 p.m.

No one was injured in the incident

Acciardo said the individual successfully completed a field sobriety test

The individual’s name is not being released because a citation was issued as opposed to the individual being arrested.

“It would be no different than giving a speeding ticket,” Acciardo said. “If that occurred, by department policy, we wouldn’t release the individual’s name.”

The individual was cited for careless driving.
