Williamsburg man dies in single-vehicle crash late Sunday night

A Whitley County man died late Sunday night as a result of injuries he suffered in a single-car accident on Hwy. 204.

According to Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London, 55-year-old Kenneth A. Rich, of Williamsburg, lost his life in the accident which happened around 10:30 p.m. Accident Reconstructionist Trooper Craig Reed is investigating the crash.

According to police, Rich was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado east on Hwy. 204 and was passing another vehicle when he lost control of his pick-up truck and slid off the eastbound side of the highway and struck a tree.

Rich was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whitley County Cornoner’s Office. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Trooper Reed was assisted at the scene by KSP Sgt. Tony Dingess, Trooper Ritchie Baxter, the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Whitley County EMS and the Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department.
