Kwik Shop clerk, owner cited after allegedly selling vape product to minor

Date:

A Williamsburg woman and London man have been cited after a vape tobacco product was allegedly sold to a minor at the Kwik Shop in Williamsburg.

According to citations for the two individuals obtained from the Whitley District Court Clerk’s Office, the sale occurred on Jan. 28, when the store clerk, identified as Sierra A. Lloyd, 22, sold the vape tobacco product to a 16 year old, who was a WPD confidential informant.

Vishalkumar Patel, 36, the owner of the Kwik Shop, was also cited in connection to the sell. According to the criminal complaint against Patel, as the owner of the store, he “is in a position of accountability for the illegal actions of the store clerk.”

Lloyd was charged with distributing tobacco/alt nic/vapor product to a minor under the age of 18 and Patel is charged with complicity to distributing tobacco/alt nic/vapor product to a minor under the age of 18.

The pair were merely cited for the incident and not arrested.
