Whitley County junior Brandi Smith was honored prior to the Lynn Camp game with a game ball for her 1,000th point against Casey County.

The Whitley County Lady Colonels, ranked 16th in the state, rolled past the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats Thursday night in Lawson Gym 68-42. Junior Brandi Smith, who was awarded a 1,000-point ball before the game, led all scorers with 20 points.

Smith hit a three-pointer to start the game and the Lady Colonels never trailed. Maria Johnson added 12 points and Taylor Dingess added 11 points in the Lady Colonels 11th win in 14 games. Lynn Camp, led by Kayla Smith’s 14 points, fell to 11-3 on the season.

Whitley County will now turn their attention to the Lincoln County Lady Patriots, 11-3 and ranked 12th in the state. The three losses all came against ranked teams including second-ranked Anderson County, third-ranked Elizabethtown and 30th ranked Lexington Catholic.
