Gentlefolk, LLC hereby declares its intention(s) to apply for a Non Quota Type 2 Retail Drink License no later than December 7th, 2024 with Sunday sales.

The business to be licensed will be located at 300 South Main St., Corbin, KY 40701 doing business as Folktale Coffee & Bakehouse.

The owners are as follows: Paul Noel of 8S511 Boundary Hill Road, Naperville, IL 60565 and David Allen of 4242 East Hwy 552, London, KY 40744.

Any person, association, corporation, or body politic may protest the granting of the license(s) by writing to the Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, 500 Mero St, 2NE33, Frankfort, KY 40601, within thirty (30) days of the date of legal publication.

 

ADVERTISEMENT TO RECEIVE CHEMICAL BIDS

The City Utilities Commission of 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin KY will receive sealed bids for the time period January through December of 2025 to furnish and deliver Polyphosphate-Orthophosphate.

Sealed bids will be received at the CUC office, 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, Kentucky until Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bid forms and specifications will be available at the CUC office during regular office hours M-F 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. (Phone 606-528-4026 Extension 100). The CUC reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.

 

REQUEST FOR BID PROPOSAL GARBAGE HAULING AND DISPOSAL

 Sealed Proposals for the following work will be received by the Whitley County Fiscal Court in the manner and on the date hereinafter specified for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, services, etc., necessary for the purchase of GARBAGE HAULING AND DISPOSAL FROM THE WHITLEY COUNTY SANITATION TRANSFER STATION.

Agency must submit their SEALED bids to the Whitley County Judge/Executive at the Whitley County Courthouse, 200 Main Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, bids may also be mailed to Whitley County Judge/Executive at P.O. Box 237, Williamsburg, KY 40769, on or before 2:00 p.m. local time on December 16, 2024, at which time bids will be opened and read aloud.  Bids will then be presented to the Fiscal Court at 4:00 pm on December 17, 2024.

Bid envelopes shall be marked “GARBAGE HAULING AND DISPOSAL” on the front of the envelope or package.

The prospective bidder should bid based on hauling household and bulk garbage from the Whitley County Sanitation Transfer Station at 535 Happy Hollow Road, Williamsburg, KY 40769, to an approved landfill and shall bid dollar per ton. The prospective bidder will be responsible for providing trailers to load garbage in at the transfer station, and personnel to drive the truck and haul the garbage from the site. Monthly billing shall be based on actual tons disposed of. The term of the bid shall be from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.

No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened.  Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.

Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County reserves the right to award bid based upon availability, service and in the best interest for the public safety for the citizens of the County.  Whitley County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

 

NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE

Permit # 918-0476

In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that Ferroglobe USA Mining, LLC., 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Ky 40701, has filed for a Phase II & III Bond Release of permit number 918-0476 which was last issued on September 9, 2020. The application covers an area located approximately 0.8 miles northwest of KY 779 junction with KY 3423 and located 2.2 miles northwest of the confluence of an un-named tributary of Meadow Creek in Whitley County, Kentucky. The operation is located 3.9 miles southeast of Rockholds, Kentucky.

The bonds now in effect are as follows: INC 1 Surety bond in the amount of $22,600.00. Approximately 100% of the original bond amount of $22,600.00 is included in this application for release. INC 2 Surety bond in the amount of $62, 800.00. Approximately 100% of the original bond amount of $62,800.00 is included in this application for release.

Reclamation work performed includes Backfilling, re-grading, topsoil replacement, and drainage control including soil preparation and initial seeding and mulching in accordance with the approved reclamation plan, completed March 2018.

Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing of the informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, KY 40601 by 12/27/2024.

This is the final advertisement of the application. A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for 12/30/2024 at 9:00 am at the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965-1229. The hearing will be cancelled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by 12/27/2024.
