ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for a digger derrick vehicle will be accepted by the City Utilities Commission of Corbin at its offices located at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 until April 4th, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m. (local time), and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

Copies of the specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Utilities Commission at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701, (606)528-4026.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids.

The City Utilities Commission (CUC) reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids, and to select the bid that is in the best interest of CUC.

 

LEGAL NOTICE

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, services, and equipment for the Automatic Weather Observation System (AWOS) will be received by the Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport Board at 1000 Aviation Blvd, Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769 until March April 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time, and at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed bids submitted prior to the bid opening should be sent to Tyler Jones at the above given address. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of the submittal envelope with a minimum of the Contractor’s name and address, project name, and the date and opening time. Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Friday, March 28 at 11:00 AM EST in the airport conference room at 1000 Aviation Blvd.

The project includes but is not limited to the replacement of an Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS), including power cabling, gravel access road, and all necessary appurtenances as indicated in the plans and specifications.

Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier’s or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the Owner, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract.

Plans, specifications, and contract documents may be viewed and purchased through Lynn Imaging Plan room on or after Friday, March 21, 2025. All questions related to the contract documents shall be directed to Dwight Clayton, PE at American Engineers, Inc. at dwight.clayton@stvinc.com. Addendums to the bid package will be issued through Lynn Imaging.

The Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport Board will evaluate all submitted bids and reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to reject nonconforming, nonresponsive, or conditional bids.

Bids must remain in effect for 60 days after the bid opening date.

Specifications can be obtained from tori.brock@corbin-ky.gov and sealed bids must be received in the office of the City Clerk, located at 805 South Main Street, Suite 217, Corbin, KY 40701 by 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The bid opening will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the upstairs meeting room at the Corbin Government Center.

The City of Corbin reserves the right to accept or reject any/all bids.

The business to be licensed will be located at 264 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Corbin, KY 40701, doing business as Go Time 7 LLC. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 918-0469, Renewal

In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Ferroglobe USA Mining, LLC, 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for renewal of a permit for a surface remining coal mining and reclamation operation affecting 229.52 acres, located 0.67 miles southwest of Gausdale in Whitley County.

The proposed operation is approximately 0.22 miles northeast from KY Highway 11’s junction with KY Highway 92 and located 0.31 northeast of the confluence of Buffalo Creek with Poplar Creek.

The proposed operation is located on the Barbourville and Frakes, KY 7½ minute quadrangle maps. The surface area to be affected is owned by Brenda Lambdin, Virginia Hansford, Roy Lee Carr, Raymond Croley, Anna Ruth Senters, Lewis Helton, Donald Smith, Daniel Rice, Stella Rice, Roscoe Croley, A.D. Lambdin, and Robert Rice.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965-1229.  Written comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
