ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

WHITLEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT (OWNER) will receive proposals through Codell Construction Company (CM) to furnish all labor and materials to complete the WHITLEY COUNTY JUDICIAL CENTER located on the CORNER OF MAIN AND NORTH SECOND STREET, WILLIAMSBURG, KY 40769. Work is to be performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and addenda prepared by MURPHY GRAVES ARCHITECTS (ARCHITECT), MARCUM ENGINEERING (MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEER), GEOTECH ENGINEERING & TESTING (CIVIL ENGINEER), GEOTECH ENGINEERING & TESTING (STRUCTURAL ENGINEER), and WEE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS, INC. (LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT).

A complete set of Drawings, Specifications, and the project manual requires a refundable deposit of $250.00 payable to WHITLEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT.

Bids will be due by June 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM, and will be opened at the WHITLEY COUNTY COURTHOUSE, CIRCUIT COURT ROOM, 200 MAIN STREET, WILLIAMSBURG, KY 40769. Each bid must be accompanied by a 5% Bid Bond. No Bidder may withdraw a bid submitted for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for June 11, 2009 at 3:00 PM at WHITLEY COUNTY COURTHOUSE, CIRCUIT COURT ROOM, 200 MAIN STREET, WILLIAMSBURG, KY 40769. All bidders are urged to attend this meeting.

The Project is to be complete within 610 calendar days from the date of the official Notice to Proceed, and liquidated damages are $1,000.00/day thereafter, if the completion date is not met. Successful Bidders may be required to furnish a 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond for this Project. The cost of the premium for such a bond shall be included in the base bid as an alternate, which may or may not be accepted.

The second reading and adoption of the Whitley County Fiscal Court proposed budget ordinance #2009-03 for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 is scheduled to be held at the courthouse, in the Fiscal Court Room on June 16, 2009 at 06:00 PM.

All interested parties and organizations in the County are hereby notified that a copy of the County’s Adopted Budget in full is available for public inspection at the office of the County Judge/Executive during normal business hours.
