Leland “Pete” Robinson, 93, of Corbin, KY, departed this life on December 19, 2021 at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born to the late James (Jim) and Martha (Wallace) Robinson on August 1, 1928 in Wofford, Kentucky.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Lucille (Wilson) Robinson; daughter, Sandra Kay Mathes; son, Dennis Lee Robinson; brothers, Charley Robinson, Howard Robinson, and Roy Robinson; sisters, Myrtle Woods, Marie Lawson, Bertha Stanley and Mary Bunch; nieces and nephews, Joyce Robinson Lester, Carl Robinson, Howard Robinson Jr., Jim Woods and Raymond Woods.
He is survived by grandchildren, Rachel Mathes of Corbin, KY, and Richard Mathes of Washington DC; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Colton of Corbin, KY; son-in-Law, Richard Mathes of Corbin, KY; one sister, Thelma Robinson of Williamsburg, KY; several nieces and nephews, Maxine Stanley Murdoch, Ralph Stanley, Gail Stanley Yates, Scott Bunch and Regina Bunch Sears; special friends of the family, Susan Williams, Maudie Campbell and Dorothy Lawson.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 23, at 11:00 AM at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 23, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.
Burial will follow in Croley Addition Highland Park Cemetery in Williamsburg, KY.
The family requests that all attendees honor their wishes on wearing a mask during service and visitation.
