Lexington semi driver suffers minor injuries in I-75 crash

This semi crashed near the 18-mile marker of I-75 Monday.

A Lexington man suffered minor injuries when the tractor trailer he was driving crashed along I-75 Monday morning.

The crash happened about 9 a.m. about 100 yards south of the 18 mile mark.

Jermone Norman Jr., 34, was driving a 2019 International north when he lost control, over corrected and went off the roadway onto the right shoulder/ditch area, said Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) Officer Chris McQueen.

Norman suffered minor injuries. Whitley County EMS transported him to Baptist Health Corbin for treatment.

Norman was working for the Western Express trucking company out of Nashville, and was hauling plastics for Casella Recycling from Knoxville to Lexington.

No other vehicles were involved.

CVE Officer Mike Taylor and McQueen are in charge of the accident investigation and the inspection of the truck.

Goldbug Volunteer Fire Department assisted with traffic control at the scene.
