Lily, West Knox and Campground volunteer firefighters were unable to save this barn and these two vehicles during a blaze early Tuesday morning on Echo Valley Road.

Lily and West Knox firefighters were called to the scene on Echo Valley Road near the intersection with Hopkins Cemetery Road about 5:15 a.m.

Lily Fire Captain Dee Kubat said when firefighters arrived the barn and two nearby vehicles were already fully involved.

“It was on the ground,” Kubat said of the barn.

Campground Fire Department was paged to the scene for manpower and water.

Kubat said firefighters had the blaze knocked down by about 6:30 a.m. and the last firefighters cleared the scene by approximately 7:30 a.m.

“We have no idea what started it,” Kubat said adding that arson is not suspected.
