A Lily man was arrested Monday night following an investigation into a burglary in northern Laurel County.

Jonathan L. Carpenter, 27, was charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said Sgt. Gary Mehler served the warrant on Carpenter that he had secured following an investigation into the incident on Mount Zion Road on January 24.

Acciardo stated that Carpenter allegedly entered the residence and took multiple, unspecified items before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Carpenter was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
