Whitley County now has a new art project designated to help spread information about suicide prevention.
The Whitley County Health Department teamed up with local schools to build the pyramid.
The project named, the Art Suicide Prevention Triangle, was designed by Williamsburg Independent Art Class (Karen Fields and students), Whitley High School Art Class (Anthony Osborne and his students) and Corbin Middle School (Danielle House and students).
Kathy Lay at the health department designed and painted the fourth side.
The groups competed for the best design. First place was awarded to Whitley County High School by Whitley County Judge-Executive Pat White, Jr.
The pyramid was assembled by Bill Freeman, the building operations supervisor at the health department.
It was covered with hardener and resin to help preserve the work outside.
Lay said the structure is light and can be moved around the county, but for now it is located at the Judicial Center in Williamsburg.
