The Lynn Camp Wildcats are 0-3 in district play after a 50-6 loss to Pineville on Friday.
“We continued to improve in many areas, but our lack of experience really affected us at times,” said Lynn Camp Head Coach Allen Mitchell. “The big takeaway is our guys continue to play hard in the face of difficult circumstances.”
Difficult circumstances are no doubt to continue as Friday’s loss sets up a Lynn Camp versus Middlesboro matchup for the first round of playoffs.
“The goal of our coaching staff is to continually teach and do our best to put our players in the best position to make plays,” Mitchell explained. “For our kids, it is to just come to work and strive to get better every day.”
When the two teams met earlier this season, Middlesboro defeated the Wildcats 47-6.
Before Lynn Camp sees the postseason, they have one final at home matchup against Clay County.
The Tigers are 4-5 on the season.
“Clay County has had some really good wins and is a physical team. We just need to come out and give everything we have as we have been the last few weeks,” said Mitchell.
When the two teams met last season, the Tigers won 36-0.
