Sixty-five-year-old Delana Helton is in the Knox County Jail for allegedly stabbing and clubbing his live-in girlfriend, Anita Peters, Sunday afternoon.
His weapons of choice included a pitchfork and a jar of peanut butter, Knox County Deputy Roy Gambrel reported.
According to the arrest report, Gambrel was called to the home, which the couple shares with their child, on Ky. 6 in Woodbine about 3:40 p.m.
Gambrel stated during the domestic dispute, Helton allegedly hit Peters with the pitchfork and stabbed her with it.
"She said he chased her and stabbed her with it," Gambrel said.
In addition, Helton is accused of hitting Peters in the head with the jar of peanut butter.
"She had multiple bruises and scratches," Gambrel said.
Helton remains in jail on a $10,000 cash bond. At Helton’s arraignment Monday, he pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree assault. Judge John Chappell set a preliminary hearing in the case for 11 a.m. July 5 to determine if the case should be presented to a Knox County Grand Jury.
