Mary Donna Elizabeth Sammons, 62, of Corbin passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born June 7, 1955, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Louise Vaughn.

She was a member of the Old Ark House of Prayer Church. A woman of varied interests, she enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and spending time outdoors, especially tending to roses, camping, fishing, and hunting.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Sammons.

She leaves behind her fiancé, Louis “Pete” Hammock and his mother, Betty Marshall; three sisters: Brenda Decker, Judy Johnson, and Lolita Bell; four brothers: Lawrence Vaughn, Jr., Junior Decker, Robert Vaughn, and Bruce Vaughn; two daughters: Patricia Brock and Marie Baker; special niece, Lou Boley and husband Brandon; and other nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Eversole officiating.

Burial followed in Perkins Cemetery.
