Meadows convicted by jury in 2021 death of girlfriend, could face life in prison

John Phillip Meadows told jurors that he acted in self-defense when he fatally shot his girlfriend in January 2021 and then stayed in her apartment for more than three weeks with her dead body. It was a story that the jury apparently didn’t believe, finding him guilty of murder and recommending a life sentence for the crime.
