Motorcycle strikes SUV Monday

Date:

Rain caused this motorcycle to slide into the path of an SUV Monday afternoon.

An Indiana man had to be transported to the hospital early Monday afternoon after his motorcycle struck an SUV near Exit 11 in Williamsburg.

Williamsburg Police Officer Greg Rhoades said that Michael Cross, 47, of Frankfort, Indiana, was travelling on Ky. 92 about 12:30 p.m. on a motorcycle when he struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

“He lost control of the bike due to the weather and the rain and slid over into the other lane of travel,” Rhoades said.

Cross suffered relatively minor injuries in the crash.

Whitley County EMS transported Cross to a local hospital to get checked out for left leg and knee pain.

“He needed help walking. He couldn’t walk on his own,” Rhoades said. “It could have been a lot worse.”

Deputy Police Chief Jason Caddell, members of the Williamsburg Fire Department and Whitley County EMS all assisted at the scene.
