Ned Webb

Ned Webb, age 79, of Corbin passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born in Bell County, Kentucky on August 19, 1942, a son of the late Buell and Juanita Thompson Webb. He came to work in surgery at the Corbin Municipal Hospital and remained there over 40 years as the hospital changed to Southeastern Kentucky Baptist Hospital and later became Baptist Regional Medical Center. Ned and Doralene were married in 1967 and spent 54 years of marriage in Laurel County.
Ned was a loving father to Heather Kessler and husband Bruce of Bowling Green, KY and Melanie Gabbard and husband Jesse of Lexington, KY. He was a devoted Papa to Todd, Evan, Sarah and Emily Kessler and Avery Gabbard. Other survivors include his siblings, David (Peggy) Webb of Raleigh, NC; Karen (Ed) Christiansen of Union, KY; Mary (Jim) Skeens of Charleston, WV; and Harold (Betty) Shelton, Jr. of Harrogate, TN.
Ned was happiest when spending time at Pawleys Island where he made annual visits for 45 years, or working on his favorite new project at home with Brinkley, the dog, by his side.
His funeral service will be held at Corbin Presbyterian Church at 11 am on Wednesday, September 1 with Rev. Lisa Eye and Rev. John Leggett officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
