A motorcycle rider suffered multiple injuries Monday morning when he ran into a car while riding up Main Street in Corbin.
Twenty-three-year-old Dylan Bunch of Danville was thrown from his Kawasaki Ninja street bike following the collision at the intersection of North Main Street and Roy Kidd Ave.
Bunch was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Corbin for treatment of his injuries.
Corbin Police Major Rob Jones, the department’s public affairs officer, said Bunch struck the left rear quarter panel of the Toyota Avalon driven by 47-year-old Cynthia Killion of Williamsburg.
As a result of the collision, Killion’s car spun around and hit the side of a nearby building.
Jones said Killion was not injured.
A witness reportedly told police that as Bunch travelled up Main Street he was driving at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic.
Jones said there was nothing to suspect the use of either alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash.
Traffic on Main Street was rerouted onto Roy Kidd Ave. as police and emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
Corbin Police, Corbin Fire Department and Whitley County EMS responded to the scene.
