Opal Lena Cox, 89, of Liberty School Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin.

She was born on March 14, 1927 in Whitley County, to the late Luther Loudermilk and Ada (Brown) Loudermilk.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hoyt Cox; three brothers, Ray Loudermilk, Virgil Loudermilk and Joe Loudermilk; a sister, Odie Loudermilk and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Cox.

She is survived by a son, Hoyt Curtis Cox of Williamsburg; two daughters, Lorene Cox (Verlin Marsee) and Jerlene Huddleston (Rick) of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Bruce Huddleston, Angela Crusenberry, Jessica Cox, and Courtney Cox; four great grandchildren, Harley Huddleston, Ethan Huddleston, Dakota Crusenberry, and Hannah Crusenberry; one sister, Ruth Loudermilk Emory of South Carolina; three brothers, Johnny Loudermilk of Louisville, Robert Loudermilk of Louisville and Donald Loudermilk of Florida; sisters-in-law, Chlora Murphy, Pauline Cox and Velma Kidd of Williamsburg; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Thursday, February 23, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Laudermilk and Rev. Raymond Parks officiating.

She was laid to rest in the Richardson Cemetery in Williamsburg.  Donald Cox, Doyle Cox, Edmond Cox, Mike Lawson, Dawson Powers and Homer Hubbard served as pallbearers.
