Orena Elizabeth Branam, 90, of Cookeville, TN, formerly of Whitley County, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born October 30, 1926, in Whitley County, to the late Herbert and Cordie (Lawson) Faulkner. Mrs. Branam was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.  he was saved at the age of ten at her home church, Lot Baptist Church in Whitley County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James D. Branam; brothers, Leonard and Leamon Faulkner; sister, Eudena Overton; granddaughter, Laura Lynn Gibson; and daughter-in-law, Glenda Branam.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia J. Gibson Burton of Cookeville, TN; son, Dennis W. Branam and wife, Marilyn, of Danville, KY; three grandchildren, Kimberly D. Parrish of Cookeville, TN, Lisa Rimmell and husband, Tom, of Maryville, TN, and Gregory Branam and wife, Sarah, of Danville, KY;  three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Baye Parrish, Caleb Branam, and Codi Branam; several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 3rd, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gaw officiating.

The family received friends again Sunday, June 4th at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Jellico, TN.

Burial was at 11 a.m., Monday, June 5th, at Lot Cemetery, Lot, KY.

Cox & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the Jellico arrangements.
