Woman accused of theft from hospital

Corbin Police say a Williamsburg woman was under the influence of drugs when hospital security caught her attempting to steal supplies, bedding and a digital thermometer from her hospital room Friday morning.
Twenty-eight-year-old Tara Sasser is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking of the value of $500 or more but less than $10,000, public intoxication – controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Officer Greg Bisschop, police were called to Baptist Health Corbin just after midnight Friday in response to a theft complaint.

Hospital security told police that Sasser was stopped while attempting to conceal bed linens, unspecified paper products and a box of rubber gloves inside a large bag.
