Portia Waddell Cox

Portia Waddell Cox, age 66, of Meadow Creek Road, Rockholds, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky. Portia was born on January 7, 1955 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Roscoe Wesley and Otilla (Paul) Waddell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dewayne Cox; brother, Rev. Larry Waddell and a sister, Vanna Waddell Storms. Portia was a member of Emlyn Baptist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Greg Waddell (Christina Melton) and Denny Waddell, all of Rockholds; sister, Patricia Harris (Jay) of Rockholds; special niece, Lanaya Hill of Rockholds; special friend/family, Priscilla Moses of Williamsburg; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 5, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Bowman officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest in the Hart Cemetery on Gail Hart Road in Rockholds.
