Public’s help needed to find stolen church trailer

Date:

Whitley County Sheriff Bill Elliotte is asking for the public’s help in locating a stolen trailer filled with inflatables that belongs to a religious organization.

“It belongs to the South Union Mt. Zion Baptist Association and contained inflatables and other items used by churches for bible school and other activities,” the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department wrote in a release.

The trailer was parked behind Grace Christian Fellowship Church off KY-92 just outside Williamsburg, and was stolen sometime between the end of the Wednesday, Oct. 2, service, and the beginning of the Sunday, Oct. 6, service, Elliotte said.

“You are a pretty low person to go out there and steal from churches,” he noted.

Elliotte said that so far he doesn’t have any leads in the case, and any information that the public can provide would be appreciated.

Anyone with information about the trailer or the stolen items inside it are asked the contact the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office during regular business hours at (606) 549-6006, or Whitley County E-911 Dispatch after regular business hours at (606) 549-6017.

Elliotte is the investigating officer.
