Ray Lawson, 65, of Skaggs Branch Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home.

He was born on August 10, 1951 in Jellico, TN to the late Cody Bill Lawson and Opal Marie (Bennett) Lawson.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva “Doll” Lawson and brothers, Eugene “Jailer” Lawson, Orie “Cat” Lawson and Jimmy “Bodine” Lawson. Ray attended High Cliff Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Ray Lawson and wife Heather of Williamsburg, Kevin Lawson and wife Adrian of Williamsburg and Joshua Ray Taylor; six grandchildren, Jordan Dowdy, Brandon Claxton, Cody Ryan Lawson, Luke Allen Woods, River Lawson and Mason Eli Taylor; special friend Angela Johnson and her children, Paige Wilson, Payton Wilson and Ricky Dudney; sister, Eula Daugherty of Williamsburg; brothers, Elbert “Sack” Lawson, Arthur “Art” Lawson, Olan Lawson, Floyd “Judge” Lawson and Danny Lawson, all of Williamsburg: and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Sunday, March 19, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Rose and Rev. Lowell Huddleston officiating.

He was laid to rest in the Lawson Family Cemetery at Fairview.
