This weekend, you will have the opportunity to play cornhole in an event to help a program designed to help get kids off drugs, and to donate to help less fortunate families with food during the upcoming holiday season.
The 13th Annual Reclaiming Futures Adolescent Treatment Program Cornhole Tournament and Food Drive will take place at Whitley County Fairgrounds on Saturday (Oct. 25). Registration will be at 1:30 p.m. with the tournament starting at 2 p.m.
All proceeds will go to fund holiday food boxes and angel tree for youth and families.
Reclaiming Futures Adolescent Treatment Program, formerly known as juvenile drug court, helps teenagers in the court system get off drugs and stay in school.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair to enjoy the tournament, and to check out vendors and recovery supports.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items in order to be entered for a prize drawing. Tournament prizes will also be awarded.
Needed non-perishable food items include canned vegetables and fruits, boxed stuffing, instant potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, rice, pasta, beans, canned meats, soups, dessert mixes, pumpkin pie filling, cake mixes, etc.
The entry fee is $25 per person or $50 per team. If you don’t have a team member, then you may be paired with youth. Prizes will be awarded.
Gold level sponsorships are available for $150, silver level for $100 and bronze level for $50.
The tournament is sponsored by Reclaiming Futures in the Cumberlands, Whitley County Tourism and the Whitley County Fiscal Court.
