
Dakota Robertson takes a fumble recovery into the end zone.
Dakota Robertson returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown, the defense caught the Raiders quarterback in the end zone and Dylan Adams returned an interception 16 yards to lead Corbin to a quick 28-0 score in the first quarter as the Redhounds hammered the McCreary Central Raiders, 64-6 Thursday night in a district showdown. It was Corbin’s first district win over the season heading into a big showdown with the Bell County Bobcats next week.
Senior Matt Jewell also scored two first quarter touchdowns to pace the Redhounds. Jewell scored on a 21-yard run with 6:33 in the opening quarter and Cai Jackson nailed the PAT for a 7-0 lead. Roberts then scored on the 20-yard fumble recovery and the defebse got the safety with 3:26 in the quarter to put the ‘Hounds ahead, 15-0. Jewell scored on a 50-yard kickoff return after the safety and Corey Taylor added the PAT. The Redhounds led 28-0 by the end of the first quarter and 48-0 at the half.
Sophomore William Reedy added two touchdowns in the second half while Taylor and Brian Nantz scored for the Redhounds as well.
The Raiders only reached midfield once in the game and that came on the last series when freshman Tyler Longmire scored on a 40-yard run on the last play of the game.
The Redhounds held McCreary Cerntral to minus 56 yards rushing.
