Reed “RD” David Taylor, 78, husband of Billie Taylor passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Baptist Health Lexington.
David “RD” entered into this life on March 30, 1938, the son of the late Levi Taylor and Rachel Hodge Taylor.
He served in the United States Army and was stationed in both Germany and Vietnam.
He was retired from Arch Mineral Corporation and had been employed previously with U. S. Steel. He will be remembered for his jokester ways, his laugh, his love for traveling, and his love for his family.
David “R.D.” leaves behind his wife Billie, his grandchildren Shawn Witt (Crystal) and Holly Witt Chitwood (Ben) and great-grandchildren Reed and Bella Chitwood, Jordan Witt, and Kendra Parker; brother: Eugene Taylor; sister Ruth Wade (Ray); two brothers-in-law: Herb Partin and Layton Bullock; and a host of other family members, friends, and neighbors.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Carl Taylor; five sisters: Cotha McCowan (Ernest), Gertrude McDaniel (Paul), Alene Taylor, Mildred Fink (Jake), Mary Lou Partin, and Donna Bullock; two half- sisters: Edna Mullins (Omar) and Opal Bradford (John).
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 25, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Interment to follow Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
