Report: Whitley at high risk for HIV outbreak

Fatal overdoses in the state of Kentucky increased last year, with the fentanyl-related deaths contributing 34 percent of all overdose deaths in the state, according to the 2015 report released from the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that was introduced as an intravenous anesthetic that is about 100 times more potent than morphine, according to the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
