Richard Harris Sr.

Richard Harris Sr., age 92, of Corbin, Ky., passed away Sunday September 21, 2025 at his home.
He was born June 4, 1933 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Guy and Gladys Clabough Harris.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three sons, Richard Lynn Harris Jr., Michael Wayne Harris and David Randall Harris; two grandsons, Justin Michael Harris and Michael Wade Harris; one sister, Betty Day; two brothers, Charles Harris and Buddy Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Lana Taylor Harris of Corbin, Ky; one daughter, Kathy Harris Compton (Rob) of Helena, Alabama; two step-children, Elizabeth Kidd (Craig) of Williamsburg, Ky., John Frederick Kanter of Corbin, Ky; fourteen grandchildren, Jessica Joseph (Marc), Shannon Dawson (Hunter), Sean Harris (Brandi), Mack Harris, Alexis Rhiannon Cofer (Travis), Lindsey Harris, Max Harris, Montana Harris (Kady), Kabriel Harris, Andrew Stack, Allyson Stack, Harleigh Patrick, Colin Kidd, Taylor Kidd; a host of great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Thursday September 25, at Ellison Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating.
Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm until funeral hour Thursday September 25, at the funeral home.
American Legion Post 88 Corbin, Ky. will conduct Military Graveside Services.
