Roy Eugene Blankenship, 74, of Keavy, passed away Tuesday, April 11 at the Kentucky One Health St. Joseph Hospital in London.

Roy was born November 20, 1943 in Oak Ridge, TN, to the late John and Vivian Hickson Blankenship.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing bingo, and had worked as a press operator for Chrysler Corp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Wayne Blankenship; five brothers L.C. Blankenship, Clayton Blankenship, J.R. Blankenship, Jimmy Blankenship, and Jack Blankenship; and four sisters Geraldine Blankenship, Mattie Irene Karr, Francis Lomax, and Alice Ferrell.

Roy is survived by his wife Carol Blankenship and former wife Becky Blankenship; five children: Terri Gutierrez (Elias) of Murfreesboro, TN, Kay Everett (Phil) of Rockport, IN, Roy Lee Blankenship (Kathy), Maryann Wilson, and Gary Ray Blankenship (Melissa), all of Owensboro, KY; two siblings Maxine Smith Rogers (Jeff) and Gerald Blankenship (former wife Lisa) of Corbin; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service was held Saturday, April 14, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Preacher Larry Adkins officiating.

Burial followed in the Roark Cemetery.
