Semi runs off road, ends up in I-75 median near W’burg

Date:

A semi overturned in the median on I-75 near Williamsburg Monday afternoon slowing down traffic for several hours, but fortunately there were no serious injuries.

Emergency workers labored Monday afternoon at this crash scene near the 9 mile marker of I-75 when a tractor trailer overturned in the median. A car reportedly ran the semi off the road causing it to strike a different car, which also ended up in the median.

“We are very lucky that no one was killed today, very, very lucky. Accidents like this could always be a lot worse than what they are,” said Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Chris McQueen, who was one of the investigating officers.

McQueen said that 2013 Freightliner tractor-trailer belonging to Lowe Transport was travelling north on I-75 between the eight and nine mile markers when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
