Sheriff’s department sued over 2017 wreck

Date:

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is being sued in connection with a 2017 traffic accident.

Mary Moyer filed suit in Whitley Circuit Court on April 3 against the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department and Deputy Joseph W. Prewitt in connection with the June 30, 2017 crash, when Prewitt struck her vehicle in the rear.

The lawsuit claims that Moyer suffered severe personal injuries, experienced physical pain and mental anguish, and in reasonable probability, would continue to do so in the future because of the nature and severity of her injuries.

The lawsuit seeks damages for reasonable medical expenses, interest and a trial by jury.

So far no response has been filed to the lawsuit.
