Special events planned for December at Corbin Public Library

Date:

The calendar is full of holiday-themed events during the month of December at the Corbin Public Library.

In its latest monthly newsletter, the CPL informed patrons of the many exciting and fun-filled activities that are on tap in the coming weeks, including a full slate of movie showings, with each Wednesday being designated as Hallmark Movie Days, lasting all day.

Another special movie event will be Narnia Movie Day, which will start at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23.

Several holiday projects will be featured during children’s story time at 4 p.m. each Friday afternoon, including a dog treat craft on Dec. 9, a make-your-own-toy craft on Dec. 16 and a papered crown craft on Dec. 23.

Also, for the kids, a “stuffed animal sleepover” will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 13. “Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library and drop them off for the night,” the newsletter reads. “We will then take photos of your animal as they participate in fun activities all evening.”

In teen activities, CPL will host a “Nailed It” competition on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. where participants will take part in the library’s version of the popular TV show as they try to recreate some Christmas treats. Registration is required for this event.

Teens are also invited to come and create their own 2023 planners on Tuesday, Dec. 27, beginning at 5 p.m. All students grades 6 and up are welcome, and all supplies to make the planners will be provided.

Finally, Library Director John Baker and his staff invite everyone to attend a special holiday gift bag decorating event on Saturday, Dec. 16 beginning at 3 p.m.

For more information on these events and others, please visit the Corbin Public Library online at www.corbinkylibrary.org, or call them at (606) 528-6366.
