Sylvia Josephine Carter Walters, 79, of Corbin, Ky. departed this life on January 2, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Ky.
She was born April 10, 1943 in Williamsburg, Ky. to the late Amos Carter and Edith Brown Carter.
Sylvia is survived by two sons, Bobby D. Walters and wife Patsy of Corbin, Ky. and Jimmy D. Walters and wife Tina of Corbin, Ky; grandchildren, Staci Hibbard, Heather May, Sean Walters and Shelby Hunley; eight great-grandchildren, Chase Brown, Bentley Smith, Madilynn Hibbard, Seth Hibbard, Kaisen Walters, Brysen Walters, Payton Hunley, and Sophia Hunley; four sisters, Sherry Poore of Corbin, Ky., Linda Hill of Corbin, Ky., Brenda Ball (Johnny) of Woodbine, Ky., and Rhonda Darlene Lyons of Williamsburg, Ky.; five brothers, Darrell Carter (Donna) of Rockholds, Ky., Les Carter of Faber, Ky., Ray Carter (Wilma) of Rockholds Ky., Berry Carter (Marty) of Corbin, Ky., and Marvin Carter of Woodbine, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends to mourn her passing.
In additions to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Alan Hubbs; and her brothers, Paul Carter and Virgil Carter; and grandson, James Timothy Walters.
Funeral services will be conduct, Friday, January 6, at 1:00 p.m. in the Croley Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Steve Sutton and Rev. James Roaden officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest in the Davis Cemetery on Tyes Ferry.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 6, at Croley Funeral Home from 11:00 am until time of the funeral service.
