Thelma Marie Gambrel Cordell, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Knox County, on June 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Cleo Lawson.
She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Cordell; two children: Walter J. Cordell and John H. Cordell; and a grandson, Dawayne Cordell.
She is survived by four children: Patricia (Ben) Hensley of Berea, Lucy Ellen Cordell of Gray, Alice (Doug) Holman of MI, and John David Cordell of Owensboro; seven grandchildren: Connie, Angela, Tim, Tina, Tracie, Becky, and April; 13 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
Celebrated in life, she is Home at last.
