Toys for Tots to adopt Leslie County

Date:

A 26-foot U-Haul rented by Leslie County Judge-Executive Williams Lewis was loaded with toys that will benefit six schools in Leslie County on Dec. 2.

The South Central Kentucky Toys for Tots campaign does not currently serve Leslie County.

Because of the generosity of coordinators Greg and Cathy Sims, when they were approached and asked for help providing toys for kids in the county, the duo agreed to do what they could to help.

Hyden Mayor Carol Joseph and Hyden city employees arrived at the warehouse in Williamsburg Thursday afternoon to pick up toys that will be distributed to approximately 2,000 children this Christmas.

The Toys for Tots campaign used the opportunity to make the official announcement that the campaign will adopt Leslie County into its service area next year.
