This tractor trailer overturned Saturday morning at ‘Malfunction Junction’ but no one was injured.

No one was seriously injured, but a portion of the intersection of U.S 25 and Cumberland Gap Pkwy. was blocked Saturday morning when a tractor-trailer truck overturned.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said deputies were called to the scene about 7:45 a.m.

Acciardo stated the truck was attempting to turn right from U.S. 25E onto U.S. 25 north when the load shifted causing the truck to roll onto its side.

Acciardo said the driver of the truck was 46-year-old John Cox of Manchester. Cox was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in London for treatment of his injuries.

The truck had to be unloaded before it could be turned back onto its wheels.

Officials with the West Knox Fire Department said cleanup took about five hours.
