UPDATE: Two more men have been arrested following a continued investigation into multiple burglaries at area businesses that targeted stealing ATM machines.
Shannon Davidson, 30, of Barbourville, and Kody Davidson, 31, of Middletown, Ohio, were arrested Wednesday evening in connection with burglaries.
Shannon Davidson was charged with receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more, receiving stolen property $1,000 or more but less than $10,000, four counts first-degree criminal mischief, three counts of theft by unlawful taking of the value of $1,000 or more but less than $10,000 and five counts of third-degree burglary.
Kody Davidson was charged with theft by unlawful taking of $10,000 or more, receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more, three counts of theft by unlawful taking of the value of $1,000 or more but less than $10,000, four counts first-degree criminal mischief and four counts of third-degree burglary
Both men were jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Facility, where they remain under separate $25,000 cash bonds as of Thursday morning.
The Corbin Police department announced the additional arrests, which were made with help from the Barbourville Police Department, Corbin Police Department, Williamsburg Police Department, London Police Department, Laurel County Sheriff’s Department and Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
More arrests and charges are expected.
ORIGINAL STORY: Two Flat Lick men have been arrested in connection to a rash of recent burglaries as businesses targeting the theft of ATM machines.
According to a release from the Corbin Police Department, Dave E. Smith and B.J. Hubbard, 31, were arrested Tuesday in connection to the burglaries. The pair were individually charged with theft by unlawful taking of the value of $1,000 or more but less than $10,000, two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree criminal mischief.
Police believe the pair were particularly connected to incidents that occurred Aug. 27 in Corbin at Tomahawk and Whitaker Bank and Aug. 28 in Williamsburg at Express Mart.
Hubbard currently remains jailed in the Knox County Detention Center, though it is unclear if Smith is jailed in another local jail facility or has since been released.
More arrests and charges are expected in connection to the burglaries as an investigation is still ongoing.
