Vehicle stolen out of Corbin recovered in Laurel County

Corbin Police and Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies joined forces Wednesday morning to recover a truck stolen from outside a Corbin residence and arrest a London man in connection with the theft.

mullins-mugEighteen-year-old Alexander Finley has been charged with one count of receiving stolen property of the value under $10,000 and tampering with physical evidence.

According to Sheriff John Root the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from out of the driveway on Ford Street in Corbin.

Through the use of a GPS system in the vehicle, the truck was tracked to a residence on Mullins Road in north Corbin.

Corbin Police notified Laurel County deputies that the truck was in southern Laurel County.

Deputy Sgt. Brett Reeves met Corbin Police Lt. Rick Baker and Officer Steve Meadors at the location. Finley was taken into custody after a short scuffle, while a female suspect was able to flee the scene.

Root stated that law enforcement is continuing the search for the female.

Finley is being held without bond in the Laurel County Detention Center.
