Viola (King) Adkins, age 87, of Clairfield, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the U.T. Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1937.
Viola is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Adkins, Jr.; son, Stanley Hugh Adkins; grandsons, Charles Richard Smith, Jr. and Anthony Hugh Adkins; son-in-law, Charles Richard Smith; parents, Luther and Bonnie (Brock) King; brothers, Kenneth King, Lloyd King and Howard King; and sister, Katherine (King) Gosnell.
She is survived by sons, Tommy Wayne Adkins and wife Helen, Timmy Lynn Adkins and wife Susan; daughters, Joyce Ann (Adkins) Teague and husband Ralph, Brenda Kay (Adkins) Smith, Janice Carrol (Adkins) Ivey and husband Brian, Linda Gail (Adkins) Tinch and husband Stoney; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Luther Benny King, Larry King and wife Shirley, Chester Allen King and wife Kimberly; sister, Edith Bargo; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 11, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm on Thursday, December 12, at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hurst and Rainey Whitehead officiating.
